projectPG.org is a FREE community information network designed to help citizens, community organizations, civic leaders, schools and local businesses organize and distribute community related information. The automated system scans a centralized community database then sends information to community members on the Pacific Grove email list.

This screen is not designed for printing. screens that are designed for printing have a link to a printer friendly version. This message is here so you don't think something is wrong when pages print blank. You cannot print screen shots of the system without clicking a link to a printer friendly version.

If you find a screen that needs a printer friendly version, please use the contact us form and let us know. This is a community effort and your assistance is appreciated.

Help us Stop Abuse

Abusing the power of projectPG.org is uncommon but does sometimes occur. An entire community relies on this information network and even one occurance of abuse can affect hundreds (or thousands) of people. Please be sincere in your efforts to help keep the content related to our community by completing an Abuse Report when needed. The Abuse Report form is available on every Project Page.

What happens when someone files an Abuse Report?

  1. The Project Page is flagged for abuse in the database.
  2. The Page Creator receives a note about the Abuse Report.
  3. A pre-determined list of community members receive an e-mail. They have elected to participate in policing abuse and are authorized to remove Project Pages and permanently ban Screen Names (the person that created the page).
  4. If a number of reports are received, the Project Page is immediatley removed. This is an automatic system and cannot be reversed.

Abuse Reports suffer some of the drawbacks of any democracy, and a small percentage of Project Pages removed through Abuse Reports are within the terms and conditions - but without the abuse reporting system, projectPG.org would quickly become unusable. If you have an idea for improving our abuse report process, please let us know.

Project Pages are subject to removal and you are encouraged to submit an abuse report if they contain any of the following things and are violating the Terms and Conditions.

  1. Offensive language.
  2. Offensive pictures.
  3. Promotions from businesses outside the general Pacific Grove area.
  4. Derogitory or generally "negative" remarks about any individual, civic leader, business or organization in OR outside Pacific Grove. This site is not a place to post your negative opinions or rants.
  5. Solicitations from organizations outside the general Pacific Grove area.
  6. Names + (phone numbers or addresses) of children under the age of 13 (names alone are OK).
  7. Any e-mail address! E-mail addresses are never displayed on the site. Project Pages have contacts that visitors can send an e-mail to by clicking a link...the e-mail address is not displayed.
  8. Duplicate Pages. Anyone that creates a Project Page must make sure they are not posting something that someone else already posted. This is especially important when creating "simple" calendar entries or "harmless" notices to the community.

This is a community! Please do your part to help everyone involved. Don't abuse privelages, don't create stuff that offends people and by all means, REPORT ABUSE WHEN YOU SEE IT.

"Volunteers are not paid -- not because they are worthless, but because they are priceless."
